21 puppies found in car at Woodlands Checkpoint
A 27-year-old Singaporean male is being investigated for bringing in 21 puppies across the Woodlands Checkpoint.
Officers from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) spotted the man looking nervous on Tuesday, and checked his car.
They found the puppies - 14 pomeranians and seven pugs - hidden under the cover of the spare tyre compartment.
The puppies are now under observation at the Agri-food & Veterinary Authority. Anyone who imports an animal without a licence can be fined up to $10,000 or jailed up to 12 months, or both.
