200 turn up at North East CDC job fair for women

SIX out of 10 jobseekers who turn to the North East Community Development Council (CDC) are women.
To help them land some work, the CDC yesterday organised a job fair for women in a "targeted approach" which offered more than 500 positions.
Of the 200 women who turned up, 166 submitted job applications on the spot and another 13 signed up for a training programme on caring for the elderly at home.
Eight employers from different industries such as Cristofori Music and Eu Yan Seng participated in the programme, offering jobs such as customer service executive, retail assistant, security officer and childcare teacher.
