2 new tests added for free health screening programme

Two new tests will be added to a free health screening programme aimed at early detection of chronic diseases.
They are a new eye screening test to pick up conditions such as cataract and a fasting blood test to screen for diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.
These tests are introduced under the Public Health Screening programme run by the National University of Singapore Medical Society.
The initiative is targeted at those above the age of 21 and to facilitate earlier detection of prevalent conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.
