16th man in online sex ring case gets 11 weeks' jail

A 37-year-old man on Wednesday, became the 16th person to be jailed in the online sex ring case involving some 51 men. A 37-year-old man on Wednesday, became the 16th person to be jailed in the online sex ring case involving some 51 men.

Tan Wei Siong, then a management executive with Siglap South Community Centre, was jailed for 11 weeks for paying $450 for the sexual services of a 17-year-old girl at Hotel 81 Bencoolen on Oct 6, 2010.

A district court heard that the minor was one of the escorts working for Tang Boon Thiew, 39, who operated an online vice ring in 2010.

Tang explicitly informed the women that they were to provide sexual services to customers.
