Zaid confirms Kajang by-election bid, to contest against Anwar

PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A former law minister from Malaysia's governing coalition who later joined the opposition before forming his own party has decided to enter the fray and go head to head with opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the upcoming Kajang by-election.
Datuk Zaid Ibrahim on Friday stressed that his desire to get back on the campaign trail was subjected to his wife's approval.
Soon after, he announced on his Twitter and Facebook page that his wife Datin Suliana Shamsuddin Alias had given him consent to contest in the by-election.
"Suliana said yes to Kajang - her Valentine present," he posted on Friday.
