What makes a good leader? Suu Kyi explains
A leader must be someone who values the people he or she serves, Ms Aung San Suu Kyi said at a public lecture on Sunday.
Recalling the uprising in Myanmar 25 years ago, she said her role as a leader began from a place of conviction when she got involved with the 1998 political movement.
The people were inspired by the memory of her father General Aung San, who led then-Burma to independence from British colonial rule, and believed she, too, would not fail them.
And being a leader is about being willing to fulfill the people's need to believe in themselves, she added.
