Water & electricity supply restored in Pahang hotels but worst is not over
Water and electricity supply was restored on Thursday at hotels facing the South China Sea in Pahang after a two-day disruption, but officials caution it’s too soon to say the worst is over.
One hotel had to turn back potential guests during the disruption in supply, while another checked in dozens of people from the surrounding towns and villages whose homes had been inundated.
Hotels along the Cherating beach are popular among locals for its long stretch of white sand and cheap seafood restaurants nearby. There is also a Club Med along the stretch.
The Cherating area is located a short drive out of the Pahang capital of Kuantan, which itself was heavily flooded.
