Two cats in Malaysia jump 14 floors to their death in bid to escape fire
GEORGE TOWN (THE STAR/ANN) - Two cats died after trying to leap to safety from the 14th floor of a building after the owner's unit at Bukit Jambul area in the city caught fire.
A third cat is believed to have suffocated to death in the living room of the flat rented by the pet owner Suraya Ismail.
The 28-year-old restaurant worker had rushed back to her unit on hearing about the fire which was eventually brought under control. She burst into tears when firefighters told her about the cats.
"Daniel was a year old, Eddy, eight months and Shasha just a month old," she said about her cats.
