Singaporean man's body repatriated from Batam
A SINGAPOREAN man who died suddenly at a Batam pub on Saturday has been repatriated to Singapore, police said.
Woodlands resident Mr Amal Lal, 59, a private sector employee, passed out shortly after he turned up at the Sugar Pub in Nagoya, Riau.
Riau Islands police chief Brigadier-General Endjang Sudrajat said on Monday that the man's family did not agree to an autopsy. Preliminary investigations found no signs of violence on the dead man's body, he added.
Mr Lal had arrived at Batam's Batu Ampar ferry terminal on August 7 and stayed at the Hotel Dju Dju in Nagoya, he said.
