Russian tourist dies, 32 injured in Thai bus crash
BANGKOK (AP) - Thai police say a Russian tourist was killed and 32 others were injured after a bus overturned on its way to an elephant village in western Thailand.
Police Col Bandit Muangsukham says 41 Russian passengers, along with a Thai guide and a driver, were traveling on a bus to Sai Yok district in Kanchanaburi province on Friday.
He says the driver, who was not familiar with the route, lost control of the bus and it overturned as it came down a slope.
Mr Muangsukham said a woman was killed in the crash, while 12 other tourists, including a boy, were seriously injured. Twenty others suffered minor injuries.
