KUALA LUMPUR - The parents of missing boy William Yau have identified the body that was found floating in a river near Klang, as that of their son.

They confirmed this based on the clothes found on the body, as well as scars on the front and back of the head, Subang Jaya police chief Yahaya Ramli told The Straits Times.

"But the body is in an advanced stage of decomposition, so we will only say we are 75 per cent certain. We will confirm it when the DNA test results come back in a few days' time," he said.

William's parents had visited the morgue this morning to identify the body. When they left, the mother was seen sobbing. They did not talk to the press.
