Merpati Airlines plane crashes in Indonesia ; all 46 passengers safe

A China-made MA-60 plane operated by Merpati Airlines crash landed on the runway of El Tari airport in Kupang, West Timor, East Nusa Tenggara province, at 0940 Central Indonesia time (same as Singapore time), local media reported.

All 45 passengers and one infant, along with four crew members, onboard survived.

Merpati spokesman Akhmad Zulfikri said nine passengers were being treated at three hospitals. Two foreigners were on board – a Malaysian co-pilot and an American passenger.

News portal detik.com reported that the nose wheels of the plane were not visible.
