Man seen attacking woman with hammer in viral video charged
SEREMBAN (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The man who was seen attacking his ex-girlfriend with a hammer in a viral video was charged with causing grievous hurt with a weapon on Thursday.
Siow Kong Poh, 33, pleaded not guilty at the Seremban magistrate's court. He is released after posting a RM3,200 (S$1,237) bail.
He allegedly committed the offence last Saturday outside his house at Taman Jasper Jaya, a residential district in Seremban, the capital of the state of Negeri Sembilan.
In the video recorded by the victim's daughter, Siow was seen nailing the victim on the ground, hitting her repeatedly and assaulting her with a hammer, as another unidentified woman tried to stop the aggression. He was in his T-shirt and underwear. His pants apparently came off during the scuffle.
