KLANG (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A row of shops at the Klang Sentral bus terminal in Meru, Selangor, narrowly missed being blown up on Tuesday when an armed hand grenade placed nearby failed to explode.

According to police, the grenade did not explode because its components were old and rusted.

Police were notified about the grenade at around 10am when passers-by spotted it outside the shops at the terminal.

The grenade was detonated in a nearby open area around noon by a police bomb squad that had rushed to the scene.
