KUALA LUMPUR: The youth wing of Malaysia's biggest Islamist party has demanded the immediate withdrawal of a permit given to an international modelling agency to hold a bikini fashion show in the capital city, according to The Star newspaper on Thursday.
Selangor PAS Youth chief Hasbullah Mohd Ridzuan said holding a bikini show in an Islamic country was a major insult, referring to the planned Bello Model Management bikini fashion event at a hotel on Saturday.
The youth movement of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) also condemned the organisers for wanting to hold the show during the ongoing haj season, the newspaper said.
"The organisers are insensitive to hold such vice events during a holy month in an Islamic country, where wearing indecent outfits are against our culture," said Mr Hasbullah.
