Malaysian police form elite anti-crime squad of 400 officers
PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysian police have formed a special squad of 400 highly trained officers to target the big sharks of the drug syndicates.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid said on Saturday that the squad, comprising two teams, was formed to target drug kingpins as well as waging all-out war against the syndicates.
He explained the Bukit Aman squad, led by a police commissioner, would act independently without going through the state and district police headquarters.
