Malaysian opposition leader Anwar's $39 m defamation suit against Khairy set for June 9

KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A High Court here has set three days in June for the trial of a defamation suit amounting to RM100 million (S$38.6 million) filed by Malaysia Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
Judicial Commissioner S.M. Komathy fixed between June 9 and June 11 for the trial after meeting both parties in chambers on Monday.
The court also set March 27 for case management.
Counsel Datuk Sulaiman Abdullah and Ms J. Leela represented Mr Anwar while Mr Jeffery John acted for Mr Khairy.
