Malaysia teacher makes pupils wear cow bells and offers them grass
PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A primary school teacher in Malaysia was transferred after she made her pupils wear bells around their necks and offered them grass to eat for not completing their homework.
The Education Ministry said the 26-year-old teacher will also be issued a stern warning for acting "in an extreme manner" to punish the pupils.
"The teacher's actions have also given the ministry a bad name," said Education director-general Datuk Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof in a statement on Sunday.
On Thursday, two Primary Four boys from a Chinese school in Sungkai, Perak, were made to wear bells around their necks and "offered" grass to eat as punishment for not doing their homework.
