KUALA LUMPUR - A lawyer representing Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) Mustafa Ali has denied that the person in the latest sex video is his client.

Mr Asmuni Awi, who heads the firm of Awi and Co, told news portal Malaysiakini that he had just been appointed by Mr Mustafa to represent him.

"This is a pure slander campaign by Umno. We do not suspect anyone else but the work of Umno.

"My client denies it. The video suddenly appeared," said the lawyer from Perak.

Mr Asmuni warned that his client would not hesitate to take action on the producer or blogger who uploaded such images.

"If we know who the producer is, we will certainly take legal action," he said.

Mr Mustafa had meanwhile, issued a one-paragraph statement saying that he would not entertain any queries regarding the said issue.

"I have allowed my lawyer from Awi & Co to handle it," he told party mouthpiece Harakah in an SMS.
