President Yudhoyono's 'VIP tent' at volcano evacuation site creates media buzz
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is visiting residents displaced by a volcanic eruption on North Sumatra on Thursday but he has caused a stir even before arriving.
Local media on Tuesday reported that Dr Yudhoyono and his entourage will be staying in a 'presidential tent' that cost a hefty 15 billion rupiah (S$1.6 million).
A report on TvOne, owned by rival politician and Golkar party presidential candidate Aburizal Bakrie, had aired a nearly two-minute clip showing preparations for the tent.
It showed shots of air-conditioners, rubber mats and lavatories outside and inside the grey-coloured tent.
