Indonesia captures bomb mastermind terrorist who escaped jail
JAKARTA (AP) - Indonesian police say they have captured a convicted terrorist who escaped detention by disguising himself in a burqa.
Roki Aprisdianto was sentenced to six years behind bars in 2011 for masterminding a series of bombings. Last month, he escaped from the Jakarta Police detention center after a group of burqa-clad women came to visit their husbands. He is thought to have put on one of the full-body veils.
National police spokesman Brigadier-General Boy Rafli Amar said on Tuesday that Aprisdianto was back in jail after police arrested him near a bus station in East Java.
Since the escape, police have closely screened prison visitors in burqas.
