KUALA LUMPUR - The haze has returned to Malaysia with the air pollutant index (API) in Port Klang on Sunday morning reaching an unhealthy level of 121.

Other areas in Selangor meanwhile displayed moderate air pollution readings, according to the Department of Environment's website, Malaysian Insider reported.

Readings taken at two places in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda and Cheras, showed moderate levels of 75 and 67 respectively, while the reading in Petaling Jaya was at 78. Similar readings were also registered in most parts of Malaysia.

Malaysia's API and Singapore's Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) are closely related, and any reading above 100 is considered unhealthy.
