Subang Jaya assemblywoman Hannah Yeoh has been appointed the Selangor Speaker, the first woman named to the post in Malaysia.

Her deputy is Seri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

Ms Yeoh, 33, takes over the Speaker post from the Democratic Action Party's Teng Chang Khim who was appointed to the Selangor executive council.
