Genting resort to add more attractions under $2 billion plan
GENTING HIGHLANDS, Pahang - Genting Group will spend RM5 billion (S$2 billion) over the next 10 years to build new attractions and upgrade hotels at its mountaintop resort in Pahang as it attempts to refresh one of the country's most visited destinations.
Buy designer products at the new Genting Premium Outlets. Catch a live show at a new 10,000 capacity hall. Or enjoy scenic views from its new cable car. All these will be available in stages under the masterplan.
In July, the gaming and leisure group announced the building of a Twentieth Century Fox World theme park at Genting for RM400 million. That figure has since been revised to RM1 billion.
The theme park, which will be ready in 2016, will feature rides and designed with special effects from movies such as Ice Age and Alien vs Predator. It will replace the old theme park which has been closed from September.
