Fire still raging at hills in George Town as Malaysia grapples with dry spell
GEORGE TOWN, Penang (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Fire was still raging at two hills in Penang on Thursday, as firefighters were hampered by the terrain in the area.
State Fire and Rescue Department director Azmi Tamat said they were doing their best to put out the blaze at Bukit Bendera (Penang Hill) and Bukit FRU (FRU Hill)
He assured the public that the situation was under control although his team had faced difficulties in putting out the fire.
"It is challenging for my men to get to the burning spots because of the steep radiant, about 70 to 80 degrees.
