Father who shot dead his son by mistake to take care of orphaned grandson
FRIENDS and relatives paid their last respect to Chong Kuan Fatt, 51, a Malaysian man who was accidentally shot dead by his father.
He is survived by his 12-year-old son, who will live with his grandparents, reported The Star. The child's mother died two years ago from an illness.
Last Wednesday night, Mr Chong, a pork seller, and his 76-year-old father rushed to their Myanmarese maid's rescue when they heard her pleas from outside their house in Kajang, a town in Selangor. There was apparently a break-in.
The elder Chong carried a pump gun with him and at one point in time, he mistook his son for the intruder and fired three shots at him.
