Aquino vows arrests as southern Philippines blast toll rises
MANILA (AFP) - Philippine President Benigno Aquino vowed to find and arrest those behind a powerful bomb that hit a southern Philippine city as the death toll rose to eight on Tuesday.
Thirty-six people were caught in Monday's roadside blast, with four killed at the scene and another four dying in local hospitals overnight, city police chief Rolen Balquin said.
Earlier, the total number of people caught in the blast had been given as 32.
Mr Aquino branded the perpetrators as "terrorists", adding: "I'm sure that we'll be able to get all these culprits in due time."
