BIMA - A man was killed and scores of houses were burned in a fight involving two Indonesian villages in West Nusa Tenggara province over black magic, The Jakarta Globe newspaper reported on Thursday.

Sukarman Husain, a spokesman for the West Nusa Tenggara police told the paper that the conflict was sparked after a resident of Samili village was killed by a mob for "performing black magic" with the aim of hurting a member of neighbouring Gudo village.

The province is located to the east of the Bali island.

"This Samili resident reportedly died after being mobbed by people from Gudo village, just because he was accused of performing black magic," Mr Sukarman was quoted as saying.
