Two wellness centres to come up in Iskandar in a joint Singapore-Malaysia project

Two wellness centres in Iskandar to be developed as part of a land swop deal by the Singapore and Malaysia governments were unveiled this evening.

Afiniti Medini, the urban wellness centre at Medini North, will be a regional destination for families, tourists and professionals looking to combine wellness, retail and hospitality experiences as well as corporate training needs.

The other, Avira, a resort wellness centre at Medini Central will have homes, serviced apartments and commercial space. The 210 acre development will have a retreat-like lifestyle all year round.

Both projects have a gross development value of RM3 billion combined.

The first phase of Avira will include 458 terrace homes expected to be launched in July. Prices for the terraces are expected to be about RM420 per sq ft for a 2,200 sq ft three-bedroom unit - or just under RM1 million.

Afiniti is developed by Pulau Indah Ventures (PIV), a 50:50 joint venture between Khazanah and Temasek while Avira is developed by a joint venture between PIV and Malaysian firm Eastern & Oriental.

Medini is the flagship development of Iskandar Malaysia. It is located at the southern tip of Malaysia and spans 2,230 acres.
