Start-up losses at new clinics put dent on dental chain Q&M's net profit
Dental chain Q&M Dental Group's second-quarter net profit fell 21 per cent to $900,000, said the group in a statement on Aug 12.
The reason was attributed to start-up losses from new medical clinics and its aesthetic centre, and the group also saw lower profit from the dental equipment and supplies distribution business.
Revenue contribution from the dental equipment and supplies distribution business for the three months to June 30 also fell 63 per cent to $190,000 from $500,000 in the same period from a year ago.
A trade exhibition in April last year gave them a boost in higher sales leading to higher revenue, but the same did not happen this year.
