MADRID (AFP) - A job-killing recession kept its grip on Spain in the third quarter of 2012, data showed on Thursday, a day after a general strike and vast anti-austerity protests.

Spain's gross domestic product shrank by 0.3 per cent from the previous quarter and by 1.6 per cent over the year, according to definitive data from the National Statistics Institute.
