GLOBAL search giant Google's US$120 million (S$152 million) data centre in Singapore is up and running, said a Google spokesman.
Operations at the Jurong West centre - Google's first urban, multi-storey data centre - started last month.
Along with its Taiwan data centre, which also opened last month, the facility here will serve Asian customers, offering faster and more reliable access to all of Google's services including e-mail and productivity tools.
Google's vice president for data centres Joe Kava said in a blog post last month that demand for the data centre is being driven by mobile Internet users.
