Singapore's non-oil domestic exports decline 6.2% in August
Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (Nodx) declined by 6.2 per cent in August, dragged down by a contraction in both electronics and non-electronics exports.
Electronics exports fell 9.2 per cent compared with August last year, largely due to shrinking salea of integrated circuits, parts of PCs and disk media products.
Non-electronic Nodx contracted by 4.7 per cent in August, led by pharmaceuticals, structures of ships & boats and aromatic chemicals.
Non-oil re-exports, however, rose by 14.4 per cent, following an 8.1 per cent expansion in the previous month. This was due to increases in both electronic and non-electronic segments.
