Singapore shares open lower on Wednesday

Singapore shares opened lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,078.39, down 0.02 per cent, or 0.75 points.

About 27 million shares exchanged hands.

Losers beat gainers 57 to 85.
