Singapore shares open higher on Wednesday

Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,272.89, up 0.76 per cent, or 24.63 points.

About 930 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 227 to 37.
