Singapore shares open higher on Wednesday

Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 3,255.32 in early trade, up 0.03 per cent, or 1.06 points.

Around 647.9 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 159 to 49.
