Singapore shares end marginally lower

Singapore shares ended a tad lower on lack of fresh leads. The Straits Times Index eased 1.14 points to 3,045.67 despite a bright opening. It finished in the red only at the close after staying in positive for the entire trading day.
Dealers reported profit-taking in selected counters like Yeo Hiap Seng and Khong Guan following their recent price run-up on speculative buying.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 207 to 197. Volume totalled 1.78 billion shares worth $1.36 billion.
