Singapore shares edge lower as caution reigns

Share prices on the Singapore bourse lost more ground today with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) heading to its fifth straight day of decline.
The STI fell 5.71 points or 0.19 per cent to 2,960.09.
Elsewhere, Asian markets closed mixed with Japan Nikkei 225 rebounding 1.2 per cent and South Korea's Kospi gaining 0.2 per cent. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong shed 0.6 per cent.
The recovery in some Asian markets were led by an overnight rebound in Wall Street on upbeat corporate earnings after a steep sell off previously.
