Singapore and Switzerland to strengthen economic ties

Singapore can be an innovation centre and launchpad into Asia for Swiss companies, Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang said today.

Speaking to business leaders from both countries at a Swiss-Singaporean Business Dialogue at Raffles City Convention Centre, he said that the two nations share similar policy perspectives and economic attributes that make them complementary partners for each other.

The Singapore Business Federation and Swiss Business Federation, known as economiesuisse, signed a memorandum of understanding.

Mr Lim also met with Swiss Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann to discuss strengthening bilateral ties through trade and investment.
