Noble Group posts $91.7m net profit in Q3

Noble Group, Asia's biggest commodity supplier, has announced a third-quarter profit of US$75.2 million (S$91.7 million), reversing a loss that it had made in the same period last year.

Revenue for the three months ended Sept 30 rose 9 per cent year-on-year to US$22.7 billion.

Last year, Noble reported a shock loss in the third quarter - its first quarterly loss in a decade - as it was hurt by turbulence in commodity prices.

A year on, the agribusiness giant has not only reversed the quarterly loss but also posted a record revenue of US$70 billion for the first nine months of the year.
