Ernst & Young Singapore announced today that its executive chairman Ong Yew Huat will retire with effect from Dec 31.

Mr Ong was central to the pioneering of transaction advisory services in Singapore - a key service of accounting firms.

He was also awarded the public service medal in 2011, for his contribution to the arts scene here.

A known art lover, Mr Ong initiated the Ernst & Young Asean art outreach programme, a corporate social responsibility programme that contributes to charity though sale donations.
