Building homes for 50 years the CDL way
WITH 30,000 homes developed and more than 7.8 million square feet of lettable space under its belt, City Developments (CDL) executive chairman Kwek Leng Beng is proud that the developer has remained loyal to its roots and the "made in Singapore" tag.
He was speaking at CDL's 50th anniversary celebrations tonight at the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove, with Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean as the guest of honour.
Mr Kwek told guests at the celebrations: "It was the company's desire to enhance Singapore's reputation as a vital business hub, a stylish capital of Asian management, innovation, hospitality, architecture and commerce."
From a small residential developer, it has since grown to become a major player today, having expanded into four major businesses - residential, commercial and industrial, retail and hotels.
