TOULOUSE, France (AFP) - European group Airbus lost its top spot as the world's biggest airline maker last year to the US Boeing giant, but said it beat its own targets for sales and deliveries.

Publishing results just as Boeing is hit by a crisis over its Dreamliner aircraft, Airbus said it had made record deliveries of 588 aircraft, and this year targeted 700 orders and more than 600 deliveries.
