BUYERS snapped up 2,621 new private flats, excluding executive condominiums in September, reversing a decline seen in the previous month.

In August, just 1,421 units were sold, with experts saying sales could be shadowed by the Hungry Ghost month. It was a drop of 27 per cent from July. Surburban homes saw the strongest interest, with 2,062 sales being recorded.

The volume of sales in September exceeded the 2,224 launches in the month.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority released the results today as part of its monthly developer sales figures.
