Mexican-American stand-up comic Gabriel Iglesias, known for his trademark Hawaiian shirts and "clean" brand of humour, will put on his first performance on Wednesday at the Kallang Theatre.
He says he was initially concerned that Singaporean audiences might not be familiar with him, though he does have a YouTube channel, hotand fluffycomedy, showcasing his act.
He adds: "But when I was approached by the promoters, it made me feel confident that enough people knew about me and were asking about me."
Indeed, the 36-year-old has become known internationally, thanks to the Internet, enabling him to stage performances as far as the Middle East and, soon, Australia.
