World's best DJ, David Guetta, rocks 7,000 at Fort Canning
Who cares if David Guetta showed up on Thursday night at Fort Canning Park to start the party late at 9.30pm?
When the French house music producer finally came on, one hour later than advertised, he immediately ignited the crowd with the emotive hit Titanium. Instantly, the 7,000-strong crowd sang along to the lyrics : "I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away, fire away."
Fire away, he sure did, for the next two-and-a-half hours. No wonder influential dance music magazines such as DJ Mag have dubbed him the best DJ in the world right now.
Hot and humid though it was, 44-year-old Guetta exceeded many fans' expectations, delivering a consistent, high-energy set that pumped up the audience more than the gargantuan indie-fest Laneway did at the same venue just a few months back.
