A still from the movie Lincoln. Film fans in Singapore during this season of Oscar fever might be crying out: Where, oh where, is Lincoln, Beasts Of The Southern Wild or Django Unchained? Film fans in Singapore during this season of Oscar fever might be crying out: Where, oh where, is Lincoln, Beasts Of The Southern Wild or Django Unchained? When will Hitchcock show his rotund profile in cinemas here? Will Flight, starring Denzel Washington, never touch down in Singapore?

The good news is that all these Oscar-nominated films are on the cards for a local release. The bad news is that you have to be patient.

The two unscreened Best Picture nominees, Lincoln and Django Unchained, will open on Feb 21 and March 21, respectively.

Hitchcock, dramatising the relationship between the master of suspense and his wife Alma and nominated for an Oscar in make-up and hairstyling for transforming Anthony Hopkins into the film-maker, will be released on Valentine's Day, Feb 14.
