Veteran Hong Kong actor Kwan Shan dies

Buy SPH photosHong Kong - Former 1960s Hong Kong screen idol Kwan Shan, who was the handsome, romantic hero in many a Shaw Brothers movie during the heyday of Mandarin films in Hong Kong, has died.
Apple Daily Hong Kong said the star, born in China in 1933, was 79.
It cited a friend of his actress daughter Rosamund Kwan as saying he died from lung cancer.
Rosamund sent an SMS on Wednesday to friends, saying Kwan died on Monday, and that his funeral will be held next Thursday at the Hong Kong Funeral Home.
