Upcoming Super Bowl set to draw more Singapore eyeballs

Despite an early Monday morning kick-off, more Singaporeans are turning out every year to watch America's biggest sporting event at a handful of restaurants and bars across the island.

This year's instalment of the Super Bowl, which caps the five-month-long American Football season, starts at 7.30am on Feb 4.

Dallas Restaurant & Bar in Boat Quay has seen a 10 per cent year-on-year increase of Singaporean patrons at its Super Bowl screenings since it started showing the game live in 2008.

The restaurant's owner Jason Pope, 48, anticipates around 200 guests during the Super Bowl screening this year, an estimated 70 per cent of which will be Singaporean.
