Although her talk show Lady First - Singapore centres so heavily on beauty products, Taiwanese host Pauline Lan is not concerned about having critics cast aspersions on her integrity or say she is biased towards certain beauty companies.
At a press conference for the upcoming second season of the show held at Orchard Hotel on Friday afternoon, the boisterous 48-year-old said: "I've never been worried about that. We never try to recommend just one product. For example, if we're talking about skin-whitening, then we'll always recommend relevant products that we think works across all price points - whether it's expensive or more for lower budgets.
"Also, we've always been focused on targeting the problem itself, as opposed to using the show as a platform to peddle products. Other times, we introduce beauty remedies that are DIY (do-it-yourself) too."
On the show, which is a Singapore spin-off of her popular ongoing beauty talk show Lady First in Taiwan, all of the products are either turned away from the camera, or pictured with stickers covering their brand names.
